This is a one-hour stand-up paddleboard rental run by SUP Club Ohrid from a lakeside spot close to the city center. There is no guide and no set route. You check in, get a short safety briefing, collect a board, a lightweight paddle, a life jacket and a dry bag, and then head out onto the water on your own.
Once afloat, the choice is yours. The launch point sits well for paddling around the rocky headland and looking back at the clifftop monastery above Kaneo, an angle one reviewer called a perfect spot on the lake for admiring the monastery from the water. Others drifted along the shoreline toward views of the Old Town, or simply found a quiet patch of water and floated. The lake is typically calm and clear here, which suits slow sightseeing as much as steady paddling.
The rental suits first-timers as much as confident paddlers, and works for solo travellers, couples and small groups. You must be able to swim, and children from ten years old can join with an adult. Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and water. Food, drinks and towels are not provided, and transport to the meeting point is not included.
A few practical points will make the hour go smoothly, from what to wear to how the weather is handled.
Common issues. This is a self-guided rental, so there is no guide, instructor-led tour, food, drink, towel or transport to the meeting point. Accessories such as snorkeling gear or water shoes are not included, and photo or video services carry an extra charge. You must be able to swim, children need an adult with them, and the minimum age is ten. Bad weather can mean rescheduling, though a refund is offered in that case.
No. It is a one-hour self-guided rental from SUP Club Ohrid. Staff give a safety briefing and paddling tips at the start, but you explore the lake independently.
The price covers a stand-up paddleboard, a paddle, a life jacket, a waterproof dry bag, the safety introduction, use of a locker and a changing area, and access to staff if you need help.
No, transportation to and from the meeting point is not included. The launch spot is a lakeside location close to Ohrid city center, and one reviewer said it is easy to find.
